Lisa’s Cinny Scrolls
Ingredients
Dough
- 187g warm milk
- 150g sour dough discard
- 50g white sugar
- 1 egg
- 57g unsalted butter (for the dough)
- 6g vanilla essence
- 360g all purpose flour
- 6g salt
- 4g baking powder
- 3g baking soda
Filling
- 100g brown sugar
- 50g sugar
- 8g cinnamon
- 57g unsalted butter (for the filling)
Icing
- Icing sugar
- Vanilla
- Milk
Instructions
- Mix warm milk, discard and sugar together in bowl.
- Add egg, butter (for the dough) and vanilla
- Mix in four, salt, baking powder and baking soda until shaggy dough forms. Cover and rest for 20-30mins.
- Uncover and knead for 5 minutes. Rest for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 180°c
- Roll out dough into square
- Mix brown sugar, sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Melt unsalted butter and brush onto dough.
- Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon mix on top
- Roll up dough and cut into 12 sections.
- Bake at 180°c for 24-26 mins
- Mix icing ingredients together until desired texture - drizzle on top once scrolls have cooled.
